Challenge

Siemens Professional Education (SPE), a Human Resources focused organization of Siemens AG responsible for planning and facilitating vocational trainings, dual higher-education programs, and reskilling and upskilling initiatives globally, seeked to advance its Innovation Management. The goals were identifying trends and future education needs, increase efficiency, and implement new learning initiatives to ensure employees are equipped with required skills. The SPE foresight approach had to be optimized and enriched by tailored AI solutions to support SPE Innovation Management.

The continuous support included designing, implementing and regularly updating the customized trend radar tool and different prioritization frameworks in line with existing internal governance processes. Recognizing the transformative potential of AI and its ability to enhance the innovation process, we continuously and strategically integrate AI-driven elements into the approach since 2024, achieving a powerful synergy between AI efficiency and expert insights.

Outcome

A well established process leading from identified trends to new education offers was designed, implemented and enhanced by AI clearly defining all activities & steps:

  • Expert interviews for trend detection & assessment
  • Derivation & prioritization of learning initiatives
  • Identification & structuring of required competences
  • Definition of target groups and learning curriculars 
The new foresight approach balances expert contribution and AI support, while accounting for present and future technology and business trends across three verticals and evolving job market needs - ensuring that SPE is on time with the right education initiatives.
