JOB DESCRIPTION

As a working student at Bluemorrow, you will support our Finance & Operations area over an extended period, contributing to the backbone of a fast-growing consulting business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Finance & Accounting Support: Assist with recurring financial tasks (invoicing, expense tracking, payments) and support financial reporting, budget tracking, monthly close processes and ensure compliance with German regulations.
  • Internal Operations: Coordinate internal processes, maintain documentation, support procurement, vendor relations, digital tool administration and assist with HR-related processes (hiring, onboarding, data management).
  • Direct Collaboration & Ownership: Work closely with the Director of Finance & Operations, reliably taking ownership of business-critical support tasks, ensuring follow-through and proactively seeking clarity when needed.
  • Project Support (optional): Contribute to innovation or consulting projects based on skills and interest, through research, data preparation and coordination tasks.
Your role will be continuous and hands-on, offering autonomy, clear responsibilities, and a deep insight into how a consulting business operates and scales.
Portfolio Management challenge
  • Educational Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in business, economics, finance, operations, engineering, data analytics, or a related field. (We welcome candidates with a different academic background if they bring the right skills and mindset.)
  • Skill Profile: All-rounder mindset characterized by strong reliability, execution, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Excel, Google environment and collaboration tools (e.g., Miro), and an interest in automation, digital tools and process improvement.
  • Operational Curiosity: Curiosity for backend operations and a willingness to proactively engage with administrative topics.
  • Personal Reliability: Absolute reliability – only promise what you can deliver and deliver on what you promise.
  • Communication & Self-Management: Professional communication skills, the ability to ask questions early instead of guessing, and strong self-management for handling recurring responsibilities.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of German is preferred (especially helpful in finance tasks).

Note: The role can be filled by one generalist or split into two specialized positions: (a) Finance-focused (10h/week) or (b) Operations-focused (10h/week). Not all requirements are mandatory strength in one area is valued.

  • Start Date: We are looking for someone as of 1.1.2026 (potentially earlier).
  • Working Hours: 10–20 hours per week.
  • Minimum Duration: 6 months; ideally longer.
  • Compensation: Monthly fixed salary - 15€ per hour.
  • Contract Type: Student assistant contract under German law; active enrollment required.
  • Study Requirement: Must be enrolled for at least 2 more semesters.
  • Office Location: Work from our central office space in Berlin with a requirement to be on-site at least once per week.
