The role is that of a domain expert: you contribute your scientific knowledge of the field to strategic engagements with a long-term, future-oriented perspective.
Domain Expertise and Evidence Assessment
- Share a well-founded view on how trigeminal nerve stimulation modulates brain activity, including dopaminergic pathways and the brain areas involved.
- Explain how effects differ across the ophthalmic (V1), maxillary (V2) and mandibular (V3) branches, and across stimulation modalities.
- Assess the mechanisms behind optimal frequencies and waveforms, and the conditions under which nerve desensitisation may occur with repeated use.
Expert Dialogue and Future Perspectives
-
Take part in structured expert interviews and, where useful, in workshops with senior stakeholders.
-
Bring an informed view on the latest developments in the field, including recent work not yet peer reviewed, and assess their plausibility and relevance.
Review and Sparring
- Review interim findings and assumptions for scientific soundness, and challenge them from a researcher's perspective.
- Explain complex neurophysiological dynamics clearly to a non-specialist, executive audience.
